Roland Bombardella

Roland Bombardella ( born July 9, 1957 in Dudelange, Luxembourg ) is a former sprinter Luxembourg and acting High Commissioner for National Protection (Haut- Commissaire à la Protection national) of the Grand Duchy. He played at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, the competition in the 100 and 200 meters; in the short distance he had already failed in the first round, over 200 meters, he failed in the semifinals by five hundredths of a second in the final.

Bombradella in 1975, 1976 and 1978 respectively Luxembourg champion in the 100 and 200 meters. He still holds the Luxembourg national records in the 100 meters ( 10.1 s and 10.41 s handgestoppt electronically ) and 200 meters ( 20.77 s ).

1975 to 1978, he was elected four times in succession to the Luxembourg Athlete of the Year.

On 1 January 2006 he was appointed by Jean -Claude Juncker of Luxembourg to the new High Commissioner for National Protection.
