Roland Fischnaller (Snowboarder)

Roland Fischnaller (born 19 September 1980 in Brixen, South Tyrol ) is an Italian snowboarder. He lives and lives in St. Peter in Funes.

Life

Fischnaller grew up in Funes and has made his first attempts at Fillerlift Snowboard in Val di Funes. The qualified carpenter is currently a member of the Italian Army Sports Group and in his spare time an avid mountain climber, and a member of the Mountain Rescue Service Funes.

Sporting career

Fischnaller debuted in 1997 in the World Cup. Since 2007 Fischnaller moves in the SG Pro Team by Sigi Grabner. His biggest ever World Cup success were the first places in the parallel slalom in Limone Piemonte ( Italy) in December 2010 and in Moscow in March 2011, and four second places in the parallel slalom and three second places in the parallel giant slalom. He has been in three Olympic Games ( Salt Lake City 2002, Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010) competition and is now more time Italian champion in the different snowboarding disciplines. At the World Championships he participated since 2001. His best World Cup result so far is the silver medal in the parallel giant slalom in Stoneham (CAN ) World Cup 2013.
