Roland Å tevko

Roland Števko ( born April 8, 1983 in Levice ) is a Slovak football player.

Števko began his professional career with the Slovakian first division club MFK Ružomberok - then MŠK SCP Ružomberok - in which he played in the 2001/ 02 season for the first time in the Corgoň Liga, the top league in the country. Already in the following season, he was a 20 -year-old regular player in the storm and was able to convince with 12 goals this season. His most successful year was the season 2003/ 04, was in the Ružomberok runner and he played a determining role with his 17 goals to do so. He was the best scorer in the league.

After another rather mixed year 2005/ 06 was the most bitter season in Števkos career. After he had failed a forced transfer from the club, he was punished by having had to serve the remainder of his contract period in the stands. Ironically, this season was the club champion and cup winner in Slovakia without that he had played even a minute.

In 2006, he then followed the footsteps of his two compatriots Marek Mintal and Róbert Vittek, who had made in the German second division career, and joined the SpVgg Greuther Fürth. There, however, he could not gain a foothold - also due to the long time play loose.

In August 2007 Števko moved back to Ružomberok. In his third game after his return, in the match of the 11th game day at FC Senec, Števko scored the decisive two goals for a 3-2 victory of his team. But in the rest of the season was followed by only 2 more goals. In the following season 2008/ 09 Števko played mostly in the B- team of Ružomberok in the second division. End of August 2009 changed Števko newly promoted FK Senica.
