Rolf Herings

Rolf Hering (* July 10, 1940 in Reydt ) is a former German track and field athlete and current football coach.

Career

Herring joined sporty as Athlete at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in appearance. On September 22, 1961 he set a German record in the javelin in ( 82.48 m), which for six years had stock. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he finished with 74.25 m in seventh place. In 1961 and 1965 he became German champion in the javelin. He had a competition weight of 86 kg at a height of 1,81 m.

The qualified sports teacher was since 1962 a teacher of athletics at the German Sport University Cologne (Institute for motor skills and movement technique). From 1966 to 1968 he was women 's coach in the javelin.

In his time at FC Cologne 1, in which he is ( with the exception of the 1972/73 season, in which he 04 Leverkusen assistant coach Gero Bisanz was at Bayer ) has since 1969, he held various positions from conditioning coach on the Co trainer to the goalkeeper coach. In the latter capacity he formed and managed the goalkeeper Harald Schumacher and Bodo Illgner and was since then as one of the best goalkeeper coach in Germany. Twice he jumped at FC as a coach, when, after the dismissal of Gyula Lóránt (1972 ) and Karl -Heinz Heddergott (1980 ) yet there were no successors.
