Rolf Olsen (actor)
Rolf Olsen, birth name Rudolf Knoblich, ( born December 26, 1919 in Vienna, † April 3, 1998 in Starnberg ) was an Austrian actor, director and screenwriter.
Life
Rolf Olsen attended the Theresianische Academy in Vienna and made his stage debut in 1940 in Bielsko. More Stage stations were Gablonz, Linz and Vienna, where he appeared in der Josefstadt and cabarets at the theater. After the war he continued his stage work and came during their tour of Switzerland and Germany. As co -author of Singing Angel left his first mark on the film.
Olsen was a multi-talented and one of the most versatile filmmakers in the German language area. As a director, he moved in many different sectors of the genre, be it comedy to farce, melodrama or drama to thriller to horror film. Olsen worked with film greats such as Heinz Erhardt, Curd Jürgens, Klaus Kinski, Mario Adorf and many others. More than 40 feature films, including several award-winning works, testify.
Olsen often wrote the screenplays for his own films, but was also the author of other productions, such as Hans -Joachim Kulenkampff with which he shot in Africa, Scotland and the Canary Islands.
As an actor, he worked from 1949 to 1990 with more than 50 feature films and on television, he starred in several productions. He wrote stage plays worked as a radio speaker.
Olsen was married 40 years with the Austrian actress Ilse Peternell. He succumbed to cancer. His grave site is located at Klagenfurt -St cemetery. Martin.
