Rolf Zehetbauer

Rolf Zehetbauer ( born February 13, 1929 in Munich) is a German production designer and film set designer.

Biography

After studying art in Munich after the end of World War II Zehetbauer worked in Munich, Bavaria Film as an equipment assistant. In 1951 he began work as a self-responsible production designer and rose to 1963 on the Chefbühnenbildner of the studio. In 1965 he was primarily responsible for the scenes of the TV series Space Patrol. Together with Werner Achmann and Herbert Strabel he made at times a very successful team of architects that worked on the German and international productions ( rotated mainly in the Bavaria Studios U.S. films ). His most famous film was Cabaret by Bob Fosse, for which he received an Oscar. Zehetbauer was also responsible for the major German productions of Wolfgang Petersen and had his equipment for the boat and The Neverending Story large share of the global success of the German director.

Even outside of film productions Rolf Zehetbauer has made ​​a name. The exhibition rooms of the Deutsches Museum Bonn opened in 1995, were designed by him. In 2004 he was commissioned at the Oktoberfest with the redesign of hacker Marquee.
