Roller in-line hockey

Inline Hockey is played on inline skates a team sport that strongly resembles the Hockey of the equipment, the game machine Puck and a large part of the rules.

Various storage in the sport

It is found within this sport a stock split: on the one hand, inline hockey is played with four field players and goalkeeper at about a 20 × 40m large field with Inline Puck, on the other hand, there are leagues and clubs that are held on ice hockey rink size and with special pucks.

This stock split resulted from the development of the sport in which on the one hand a " summer " game mode from the Hockey associations under the umbrella of the competent Hockey Association, on the other hand an independent thereof game operation of other sports clubs under the umbrella of the competent Skates Association showed. This leads to several world championships and national championships exist.

The venues of the sport are triple gyms with normal surface sprung floors, in the summer months without ice rinks and outdoor facilities with concrete or asphalt surfaces fine.

In Germany the play mode on the one hand by the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) for professional clubs, on the other hand the German Skates and Inline Association ( DRIV) is organized.

For this reason, existed in Germany two German championships in Inline Hockey: The German Ice Hockey Federation organizes the German Inline Hockey League ( Dihl ), by the Commission "Inline Hockey" of the German Skates and Inline Association ( DRIV ), the IHD Bundesliga ( Inline Hockey League) organized. Only the driv is nevertheless recognized by the International Roller Sports Federation ( FIRS ) and can provide teams of recognized by the International Olympic Committee international meetings.

As of the 2008 season, the DEB and the IHD agreed to play off a common German Inline Hockey Champion. The joint league adopted the name Dihl, the IHD clubs were, however, also play their own IHD - League, as only then the qualification may be acquired for the European Cup. The two organizations agreed that only the winner of the Dihl may carry the title of German Champion. The IHD organized play activities of the North, the DEB to the South divisions.

In the Dihl this hockey club and players are to a very large part represented who want to keep fit with inline hockey in the summer months.

For amateur players, there are also some loose association leagues or beginners leagues, organized by the regional associations of driv.

Due to the increased spread of the inline skater hockey, as well as the professionalism of the local leagues operation changed in 2008/ 09, the multiple German Inline Hockey Champion ( IHD) Assenheim Patriots of the IHD - Bundesliga ISHD game operation, although he there only start in the third division could.
