Roman Bannwart

Roman bannwart ( born November 2, 1919 in Gossau when William Bannwart, † April 2, 2010 in Einsiedeln ) was a Swiss theologian, priest and musician.

Life

Roman bannwart attended the seminary school in Einsiedeln and in 1940 a novice in the monastery. In 1944 he passed the profession. He studied theology. At the same time he began a musical education. In 1945 he was ordained a priest. In 1947 he was Master Chorale, 1954, he took over the management of the students of music school pin. After he handed over to his successor the line, he played with until 2003/2004 (?). He was also a lecturer in Gregorian chant in Lucerne, Zurich and Bern. In 1988, he was honored by the University of Freiburg for his musical work with an honorary doctorate. He was a member of the Swiss student association.
