Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gagnoa

The Archdiocese Gagnoa (Latin: Archidioecesis Gagnoaensis ) is a Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Gagnoa in the Ivory Coast. It includes the regions of Sud- Bandama and Fromager.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded with the Bull Sanctissimum ac Gravissimum the diocese on June 25, 1956 of territory of the diocese Daloa and it became the Archdiocese of Abidjan is a suffragan.

On 23 October 1989, lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the Diocese of San Pedro -en- Côte d' Ivoire. With the Apostolic Constitution Cum in Litore Eburneo it was collected on 19 December 1994 in the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums.
