Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz

The Archdiocese of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz (Latin: Sanctae Archidioecesis Fidei verae Crucis, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz ) is a location in Argentina Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Santa Fe.

History

The Diocese of Santa Fe was founded on February 15, 1897 by Pope Leo XIII. In Cathedra Petri built with the Papal Bull of cessions of territory of the Diocese of Paraná and the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires is a suffragan. On April 20, 1934, the Diocese of Santa Fe were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Rosario.

On April 20, 1934, the Diocese of Santa Fe by Pope Pius XI. charged with the Papal Bull Nobilis Argentinas Tinae Nationis to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Santa Fe, on 3 June 1939 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Resistencia. For more territorial concessions were made on 11 February 1957 establishing the bishopric Reconquista and on 10 April 1961 foundation of the diocese Rafaela. On September 19, 1992, the Archdiocese of Santa Fe changed his name to Archdiocese of Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz.
