Roman Catholic Diocese of Abomey
The Diocese of Abomey (Latin: Dioecesis Abomeiensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Benin, based in Abomey. It includes the Department Zou.
History
Pope John XXIII. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Christ iussum on 5 April in 1963 of territory of the Diocese of Porto Novo and of the Archdiocese of Cotonou, where it was assumed as a suffragan.
On June 10, 1995, lost part of its territory to the Diocese of Dassa - Zoumé.
