Roman Catholic Diocese of Alto Solimões
The Diocese of Alto Solimões (Latin: Dioecesis Solimões Superioris ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Tabatinga in Amazonas State.
History
Pope Pius X founded the Apostolic Alto Solimões Prefecture with the Apostolic Constitution Laeti animo on May 23, 1910 made cessions of territory of the diocese Amazon. It was collected on August 11, 1950 to Territorialprälatur.
With the bull Constat praelaturam it was collected on 14 August 1991 concerning the diocese, which was the Archdiocese of Manaus is a suffragan.
