Roman Catholic Diocese of Bhagalpur

The Diocese of Bhagalpur (Latin: Dioecesis Bhagalpurensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in India. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Patna.

History

The diocese was founded on August 3, 1956 as the Prefecture Apostolic of Bhagalpur. On January 11, 1965, the survey was conducted to the diocese. First bishop was the former Prefect Apostolic Urban Eugene McGarry.
