History

The Diocese of Campo Maior was posted on June 12, 1975 by Pope Paul VI. built with the Papal Bull Tametsi munus Ecclesiae out of territory of the Archdiocese of Teresina and Parnaíba of the diocese. It was the archbishopric Teresina is a suffragan.
