Roman Catholic Diocese of Catamarca
The Diocese of Catamarca (Latin: Dioecesis Catamarcensis, Spanish: diócesis de Catamarca ) is a location in Argentina Roman Catholic diocese based in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca.
History
The Diocese of Catamarca was established on January 21, 1910 by Pope Pius X with the Papal Bull Sollicitudine of annexations of the Apostolic Prefecture of Tumaco and the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires is a suffragan. On April 20, 1934, was the Archdiocese of Salta is a suffragan. On September 8, 1969, the Diocese of Catamarca were from parts of its territory establishing the Territorialprälatur Cafayate.
