The Diocese of Choluteca (Latin: Dioecesis Cholutecensis ) is a location in Honduras Roman Catholic diocese based in Choluteca (city).
History
The Diocese of Choluteca was born on September 8, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. out of territory of the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa built as Territorialprälatur Choluteca. The Territorialprälatur Choluteca was elevated by Pope John Paul II on August 29, 1979 to the diocese. The Diocese of Choluteca is the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa, is a suffragan.
