Roman Catholic Diocese of Coxim

The diocese Coxim (Latin: Dioecesis Coxinensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Coxim in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.

History

The diocese Coxim was on January 3, 1978 by Pope Paul VI. built out of territory of the Diocese of Campo Grande as Territorialprälatur Coxim and the Archdiocese of Cuiabá is a suffragan. The Territorialprälatur Coxim was placed under the Archdiocese of Campo Grande, suffragan on 27 November 1978. On 13 November 2002, the Territorialprälatur Coxim was raised to the bishopric.
