Roman Catholic Diocese of Hongdong

The diocese Hongdong (Latin: Dioecesis Homtomensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Hongdong in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Hung Tung Prefecture on June 17, 1932 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Lu An. It was raised on 18 April 1950 for the diocese.

Francis Han Ting -pi, who never wanted to be recognized by the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association, appointed in early 1991 an auxiliary bishop, Joseph Sun Yuanmou. This is probably the successor of Bishop Ting- pis, who died in December of the same year.
