The Diocese of Jhansi (Latin: Dioecesis Ihansiensis ) is a located in India Roman Catholic diocese based in Jhansi.

History

The Diocese of Jhansi was born on January 12, 1940 by Pope Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Ad veritatem evangelicam out of territory of the Diocese of Allahabad established as Apostolic Prefecture of Jhansi.

On 5 July 1954, the Apostolic Prefecture of Jhansi was Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution In Apostolica Praefectura to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Agra is a suffragan. The Diocese of Jhansi was on 9 February 1999 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Gwalior.
