History
The Diocese of Allahabad was posted on September 1, 1886 by Pope Leo XIII. built out of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate of Patna and the Archdiocese of Agra is a suffragan. The Diocese of Allahabad was in its history several times parts of its territory from the creation of new dioceses.
Territory
The diocese comprises the districts of Allahabad Allahabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Faizabad, Fatehpur, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Kaushambi, Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, Raebareli, Sonbhadra and Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
