Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh

The district Pratapgarh (Hindi: प्रतापगढ़ जिला; earlier Partabgarh ) is a district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Administrative center is Bela ( Bela Pratapgarh ), bears his name the district after the city of Pratapgarh.

Geography

The district Pratapgarh is located in the southeastern region of Awadh ( Oudh ) in Central Uttar Pradesh and is part of Allahabad Division. In the southwest of the Ganges, the largest power of India, the district limited, to the northeast it is short tangent from the river Gomti. History
