History

The diocese Matehuala was on 28 May 1997 officium built of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí and the Diocese of Ciudad Valles and the Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí is a suffragan by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolicum.
