Roman Catholic Diocese of Menongue

The diocese Menongue (Latin: Dioecesis Menonguensis ) is a location in Angola Roman Catholic diocese based in Menongue. It includes the province of Cuando Cubango and the communities and Ganguela Jamba in the province of Huíla.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded the bishopric of Serpa Pinto with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam apprime on August 10, 1975 from annexations of the dioceses Sá da Bandeira and Nova Lisboa and it became the Archdiocese of Luanda assumed as suffragan.

On February 3, 1977, was a part of the ecclesiastical province of Lubango. On May 16, 1979, adopted the current name.
