Roman Catholic Diocese of Ondjiva

The Diocese of Ondjiva (Latin: Dioecesis Ondiivanus ) is a location in Angola Roman Catholic diocese based in Ondjiva. It includes the province of Cunene.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded the bishopric Pereira de Eca with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam apprime on August 10, 1975 from annexations of the dioceses Sá da Bandeira and Nova Lisboa and it became the Archdiocese of Luanda assumed as suffragan.

On February 3, 1977, was a part of the ecclesiastical province of Lubango. On May 16, 1979, adopted the current name.
