Roman Catholic Diocese of Parintins

The diocese Parintins (Latin: Dioecesis Parintinensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Parintins in the state of Amazonas.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Territorialprälatur Parintins on July 12, 1955 from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Manaus. On 13 July 1963, gave parts of its territory establishing the Territorialprälatur Borba. John Paul II brought an action on 30 October 1980 to the diocese, which was the Archdiocese of Manaus is a suffragan.
