Roman Catholic Diocese of Pathein

The diocese of Pathein (Latin: Dioecesis Patheinensis ) is a location in Myanmar Roman Catholic diocese based in Pathein.

History

The diocese of Pathein was born on January 1, 1955 by Pope Pius XII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate erected as a diocese Rangoon Bassein. On 8 October 1991, the diocese was renamed the Diocese of Pathein Bassein.

It is the Archdiocese of Yangon is a suffragan.
