Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil

The Diocese of Saint -Jean- Longueuil (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Ioannis Longoliensis ) is a location in Canada Roman Catholic diocese based in Saint -Jean -sur -Richelieu in eastern Canada.

History

The Diocese of Saint -Jean- Longueuil was born on June 9, 1933 by Pope Pius XI. Universalis Ecclesiae of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Montreal built with the Apostolic Constitution when bishopric of Saint -Jean -de -Québec. It was the Archdiocese of Montréal is a suffragan. On 27 February 1982, the diocese of Saint -Jean -de -Québec was renamed Diocese of Saint -Jean- Longueuil.
