Roman Catholic Diocese of Sakania–Kipushi
The diocese Sakania - Kipushi (Latin: Dioecesis Sakaniensis - Kipushiensis ) is a location in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Sakania.
History
The diocese Sakania - Kipushi was on May 12, 1925 Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Supremi Apostolatus of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Apostolic Prefecture of Katanga as Luapula Superiore. The Apostolic Prefecture Luapula Superiore was posted on November 14, 1939 by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Si sedulo Gospel Apostolic Vicariate and renamed Vicariate Apostolic Sakania.
On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Sakania was by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi is a suffragan. The diocese Sakania was renamed on March 5, 1977 in the diocese of Sakania - Kipushi.
