The Diocese of San José del Guaviare (Latin: Sancti Dioecesis Iosephi a Guaviare, Spanish: San José del Guaviare diócesis de ) is a location in Columbia Roman Catholic diocese based in San José del Guaviare.

History

The Diocese of San José del Guaviare was established on January 19, 1989 by Pope John Paul II made ​​territorial concessions to the Apostolic Prefecture Mitú as Apostolic Vicariate of San José del Guaviare.

On 29 October 1999, the Apostolic Vicariate of San José del Guaviare was raised by John Paul II to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Bogotá, is a suffragan. The Diocese of San José del Guaviare was placed under the Archdiocese of Villavicencio suffragan on July 3, 2004.
