Roman Catholic Diocese of Shunqing

The Diocese of Nanchong (Latin: Dioecesis Scioenchimensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Nanchong in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded with the Breve Supremi Apostolatus the Apostolic Vicariate Nancheng on August 2, 1929 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Chengtu.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese. From 1989 the official bishop Monsignor Michael Huang was Woze until his death on 22 March 2004. The diocese has about 70,000 Catholics and 15 priests.
