Nanchong
Nanchong (南充 市, Nanchong Shì ) is a prefecture-level city in the northeast, southwest China's Sichuan Province and is also the largest and most important city in this region. This city has a history of over 2000 years. Nanchong has an area of 12,494 km ² and approximately 7.26 million (2005) inhabitants.

Nanchong is located on the River Jialing Jiang. It is a major transportation hub for the region and has a large silk, sugar and tobacco industries. The average temperature is 17.5 degrees Celsius in Nanchong. The city lies at 310 m above sea level. NN.

The prefecture-level city of Nanchong consists of three districts, an independent city and five counties:

Traffic
Four highways connecting Nanchong with other cities, thus resulting in an easterly direction, the Nanguang highway to Guang `an, while in the west the Chengnan highway reaches the provincial capital of Chengdu. The latest Yunan highway shortens the distance from Nanchong to Chongqing, the economic center in southwestern China. A ring road connects the three aforementioned highways together.
The railway line Dacheng, Dazhou to Chengdu via Nanchong. A new railway line Lanyu, from the northwestern city of Lanzhou over Nanchong to Chongqing, is now established. In the main train station you can take the train to the directions of Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Wuhan, Chengdu and Shenzhen.
The Nanchong Gaoping Airport, situated in the municipality Gaoping. You can from there to Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Kunming and Xi'an fly to.
The city is located on the Jialing River. This river rises in the northwestern province of Shaanxi and flowing with the Yangtze River in Chongqing together.
Education
A total of four universities and colleges have their seats in Nanchong. These are:
- Petroleum University of the Southwest (西南 石油 大学);
- Pedagogical University West China (西 华 师范大学);
- Medical University of North Sichuan (川北 医学院);
- Technical Vocational School Nanchong (南充 职业 技术 学院).
Culture
Situated in the city White Pagoda from the time of the Song Dynasty (无量 宝塔, Wuliang bǎotǎ ) and the Former Residence of Zhang Lan (张澜 旧居, Zhang Lán Jiuju ) are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China.
