Roman Catholic Diocese of Shuozhou

The diocese Shuoxian (Latin: Dioecesis Scioceuvensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Shuocheng in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded with the Breve Cum Nobis the Apostolic Prefecture Shohchow on July 12, 1926 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Taiyüanfu. On June 17, 1932, she was elevated to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese.

On 8 July 1990, the official Bishop Bonaventure Luo Juan was ordained. On 8 February 2004 the octogenarian bishop consecrated without the approval of the Chinese authorities Auxiliary Bishop Paul Ma Cun - guo. This happened in the absence of two co-consecrators that are necessary for a valid consecration according to canon law. Monsignor Juan Luo died on 15 March 2007.
