Roman Catholic Diocese of Surigao

The Diocese of Surigao (Latin: Dioecesis Surigensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Mindanao, Surigao del Norte province, Philippines. Bishop is based in Surigao City.

The diocese was on 3 June 1939 by Pope Pius XII. built from the former diocese of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro and Cagayan de Oro (Philippines) is a suffragan. First bishop was the Dutch religious clerics John Vrakking MSC. In 1960, the province was separated; Only in 1978 the diocese of Tandag was founded out of the territory, which includes the province of Surigao del Sur.
