Roman Catholic Diocese of Taiohae o Tefenuaenata

The Diocese of Taiohae o Tefenuaenata (Latin: Dioecesis Taiohaënus seu Humanae Telluris ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the Marquesas Islands in Polynesia, based in Taiohae.

History

Pope Pius IX. founded the Apostolic Vicariate Marquesas on May 9, 1848 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Ostozeanien.

On June 21, 1966, was with the Apostolic Constitution Prophetarum voces to the diocese Taiohae collected and received on May 31, 1974 its present name.
