Roman Catholic Diocese of Tursi-Lagonegro

The Diocese of Tursi - Lagonegro (Latin: Dioecesis Tursiensis - Lacunerulonensis, Italian: Diocese of Tursi - Lagonegro ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic diocese based in Tursi.

History

The Diocese of Tursi - Lagonegro was built in the 11th century as a diocese Anglona. In 1068 the diocese Anglona was placed under the Archbishopric Acerenza suffragan by Pope Alexander II. The bishop's seat was moved from Anglona to Tursi in 1110.

On August 8, 1545, the diocese was renamed the Diocese Anglona Anglona - Tursi. The diocese Anglona - Tursi was assumed on August 21, 1976 the Archdiocese of Muro Lucano Potenza Marsico Nuovo, a suffragan renamed on 8 September of the same year in the diocese of Tursi - Lagonegro.
