Roman Catholic Diocese of Viana, Angola

The Diocese of Viana (Latin: Dioecesis Viananensis ) is a location in Angola Roman Catholic diocese based in Viana ( Angola). It includes the municipalities of: Palanca, Buon Gesù, Calumbo, Catete, Barra di Kuanza, Cabo Ledo, Mumbondo, Kilamba Kiaxi, Demba Chio, Muxima and Massangano.

History

Pope Benedict XVI. founded it on 6 June 2007 from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Luanda, where it was assumed as a suffragan. Since the establishment of the local Ordinary Joaquim Ferreira Lopes, OFM Cap.
