The Apostolic Prefecture of Misurata was founded in 1939, his episcopal see is vacant and is one of 500 souls (1969).

The Apostolic Vicariate of Tripoli was founded in 1913, is headed since 1985 by Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli and counts 70,000 souls ( 2004).
