Roman Pindel

Roman Pindel ( born November 18, 1958 in Auschwitz ) is a Polish Roman Catholic priest and appointed Bishop of Bielsko- Żywiec.

Life

He joined 1977 the seminary in Krakow and received on 22 May 1983, the sacrament of Holy Orders. After years in Kaplan Kozy and Racławice he went to another biblical studies at the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow in 1986. There he earned a licentiate in 1988 and received his doctorate in 1990 on the Doctor Theologiae. From 1992 he taught as a professor in Krakow and habilitated in 2001. Subsequently he spent a year in Rome at the Pontifical Biblical Institute. From 2004, he was spiritual and from 2010 rector of the Krakow seminary. In September 2013 he was appointed President of the Regent Conference of Polish seminaries.

Pope Francis appointed him on November 16, 2013 Bishop of Bielsko- Żywiec. The Archbishop of Krakow, Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, donated to it on 6 January the following year at the Cathedral of Bielsko episcopal ordination. Co-consecrators were the apostolic nuncio in Poland, Archbishop Celestino Migliore, and Pindels predecessor Tadeusz Rakoczy.
