Roman Szewczyk

Edward Roman Szewczyk ( born March 18, 1965 in Bytom ) is a former Polish football player.

Roman Szewczyk began his career at Szombierki Bytom and played from the 1982/83 season in the first Polish league in which he scored 23 goals in a total of 185 missions. In early 1989, he spent one year at Slask Wroclaw. After that, he was with GKS Katowice 1991 and 1993 Polish Cup winner.

In 1993 he went to FC Sochaux in the French league second before he free transfer to SV Austria Salzburg in 1996. With Austria Salzburg he won in the 1996/97 season, the Austrian Cup and the Supercup. In the season 1999/2000 the learned defender led his team into the OFB Cup final, which was, however, lost in a penalty shoot almost against Grazer AK. The center-back showed up in the season 2003/ 04 outstanding performances, before he had to stop because of his age and his numerous injuries to professional football.

From 2004 to 2006 Szewczyk was still playing as an amateur player for the club unterklassigen UPS Thalgau in the second Salzburg Regional League North Before playing football finally gave up. In the season 2006/ 07 he served as a junior supervisor at FC Red Bull Salzburg.

In the 2007 /08 season began romance with FC Bergheim in 1st class North in Salzburg again to play and contributed to the rise of Salzburg Nordstädter in the second division at.

Since the 2008/ 09 season he has been working alongside his career as a scout for Red Bull Salzburg as a trainer in Bergheim near Salzburg. All coaches enjoy within the Bergheim team the highest reputation and thus represent an important basic foundation of the resident football club dar.
