Roman Wójcicki

Roman Wójcicki ( born January 8, 1958 in Nysa, Poland ) is a former Polish footballer and current football coach.

Club career as a player

Roman Wójcicki began his career as a defender in Poland, where he played for the clubs Odra Opole (1978), Slask Wroclaw ( 1981-1982 ) and Widzew Łódź (1982-1986). With Widzew Łódź he won the 1985 Polish Cup competition.

For the 1986/87 season, he joined the German football Bundesliga team FC 08 Homburg. In two seasons, he brought it to 59 Bundesliga games in which he scored eight goals.

1988/89 he played a season with the FC 08 Homburg in the 2nd Bundesliga. In 1989, Roman Wójcicki in the 2nd Bundesliga for Hannover 96, where he played for four seasons until 1993. Overall, he brought it in five years to 156 games in the Bundesliga 2, in which he scored 20 goals.

His greatest triumph as a player in Germany was winning the DFB Cup in 1992 with second division side Hannover 96 in a penalty shootout in the final against Borussia Mönchengladbach he converted the penalty for interim compensation 2:2. At the end of Hanover surprisingly won 4-3 on penalties.

National team career as a player

Roman Wójcicki played 62 A- international matches for the Polish national football team and participated in the World Championships in 1978, 1982 and 1986. While he was twenty years old in 1978 got no WRC assignment, he came off the bench in the match for third place at halftime 1982: Poland won 3-2 against France. In the 1986 World Cup, he played in all four games of Poland until the defeat in the second round against Brazil over the full season.

Career as a coach

Roman Wójcicki began during his time as a player at TSV Havelse to fill the post of player coach. Later, he moved permanently to the dugout before he moved to SV Damla Genc 1995. It was followed by engagements at Werder Hanover and at FC Wacker Neustadt as A-Juniors coach.

Since 2001, Roman Wójcicki operates a physiotherapy clinic near Neustadt am Ruebenberge and exerts its activity as a trainer only after work from. In January 2007, he again took over as coach at SV Damla Genc.

Wójcicki was also active as a Senior old boys still in the area. He won as a player in 2011 with the Ü -50 Hannover 96 Krombacher Ü 50 Championship in Lower Saxony dunums. Hanover won the final against the hosts SC Durum 4-0.
