Ronald Mallett

Ronald Lawrence Mallett ( born March 3, 1945 in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, USA ) is a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Connecticut.

Life and work

His childhood spent the African American Ronald L. Mallett in the Bronx, New York City. At the age of ten years died his 33 - year-old father, as a result of a heart attack. Inspired by the book The Time Machine by HG Wells Mallett is already decided at a young age, to find a solution to travel in time to save his father's life.

In 1962, he began his service in the U.S. Air Force. He specialized in the field of electrical and computer engineering and four years later began studying physics at Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor in 1969 and the Masters in 1970. In 1973, Mallett was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy from Pennsylvania State University. The following two years he was an assistant at United Technologies Research Laboratory, around 1975 switch as an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut. Since 1980, he was there and he is an Associate Professor since 1987 a professor there. His areas of specialization are general relativity and relativistic quantum mechanics.

Mallett is a member of the American Physical Society and the National Society of Black Physicists.
