Rooney (Band)

Rooney is a five-piece American rock band from Los Angeles.

Band History

The band's name, which stands at Geffen under contract, derived from the figure of the " Principal Ed Rooney " from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day.

Their musical style is characterized by references to the music of the last 40 years, often compared to The Beatles, The Cars or Blur strain. Other influences include The Kinks, Ramones and The Doors. The band has supported The Strokes, Weezer and Kelly Clarkson to open their tours. In 2004, she had in the series The OC, a guest appearance, her song "Blue Side " can be found on the soundtrack to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004.

The second album Calling The World was announced in the United States in October 2006, the date was postponed to June 2007. In Germany, the album was released on 28 September 2007. During her single When Did Your Heart Go Missing? With which they gained notoriety in Germany, number 17 in the German Single Charts and # 1 on the airplay charts had reached, managed the album Calling the World ranked only 94th
