The Wild Rose Rosa majalis ( syn. Rosa cinnamomea ), also Cinnamon Rose or May Rose, is native to mountainous regions in Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Siberia. It is cultivated since 1600 in European gardens, but are not widespread.

Rosa majalis forms a 1.5 m tall, dense shrub that blooms in temperate climates very early - usually in the last days of May - about 5 cm large, single flowers and is very hardy. It forms by stolons new bushes and is suitable to be planted in moist places, edges of woods or hedges to grow wild around.

The filled mold Rosa majalis ' Plena' and hybrids are frequently cultivated in gardens as the wild form.

Your Rose hips are cinnamon- red, small, round, and rich in vitamin C.
