Rosamund Greaves, 11th Countess of Dysart

Rosamund Agnes Greaves, 11th Countess of Dysart (* February 15, 1914; † December 2003) was a British Peeress and from 1975 to 1999, a formal member of the House of Lords.

Greaves was the eldest daughter of Major Owain Edward Whitehead Greaves († 1941) and his wife Wenefryde Agatha Scott, 10th Countess of Dysart ( 1889-1975 ), was born. After the death of her mother she inherited on 2 June 1975 the title of Countess of Dysart; the title comes from the year 1643 in the Peerage of Scotland. This dignity is one of the few earldoms, which can also be inherited through the female line from a special succession plan in the Letters Patent.

Greaves was unmarried. At her death in 2003 she lived on the Bryn Garth Farm in Grosmont, Abergavenny, in the county of Monmouthshire in Wales. She died in December 2003 after a short illness at the age of 89 years. The funeral ceremony was held in the Stobo Kirk on December 23, 2003.

Title heiress was her younger sister Katherine Greaves, 12th Countess of Dysart ( 1918-2011 ).

Membership in the House of Lords

Greaves was after the death of her mother formally since 1975 member of the House of Lords; her seat in the House of Lords, she joined, just like their mother, never to. The House of Lords is in Hansard officially from June 1975 to November 1999 as the period of its membership. Your membership in the House of Lords ended formally in 1999 by the House of Lords Act 1999.
