Rose Zwi

Rose Zwi ( born May 8, 1928 in Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico ) is a writer. She lived in many countries and is an Australian citizen since 1992.

Life

Zevi's parents were Jews who had lived in Žagarė in Lithuania and emigrated to Mexico in 1926. 1928 there was born Rose Zwi, 1930, she moved to South Africa with her parents. 1949 emigrated Rose Zwi in the newly established Israel and married there. In 1952 she returned to South Africa. At the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1967, she received a bachelor's degree in English literature.

1988 emigrated from intermediate to Australia. Since then she has lived in Sydney. In 1992, she received an Australian citizen. In the same year she attended for the first time Žagarė.

Zevi's novels and stories deal mostly of people in South Africa, but also the lives of the Jews in Lithuania of the 1920s is described. In Safe Houses is the lives of three families - black, Boers and Jews - described in South Africa in the 1980s. Another year in Africa also plays in South Africa and portrays a Jewish immigrant family in the 1930s. Last walk Naryshkin Park describes the fate of a Jewish Lithuanian family in the midst of anti-Semitism and persecution.
