Rosemary Hill

Rosemary Hill ( * in London) is a British historian and writer.

Life

Hill went to school in the county of Surrey. After that she attended from 1976 to 1979 the Newnham College, University of Cambridge. From 1979 to 1981 she worked for the literary magazine Quarto and worked as a freelance journalist. From 1982 to 1987, she wrote for The Times Literary Supplement, the London Review of Books, The Sunday Telegraph and The Sunday Times.

Hill was 1999-2002 Trustee of the London Library. Since 2003 she has been a Trustee of the Victorian Society. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and the Society of Antiquaries of London. Furthermore, it is since 2011 Quondam Fellow of All Souls College, University of Oxford. Previously, she had already been of the college from 2004 to 2005 Visiting Fellow.

Rosemary Hill was married to the late poet Christopher Logue 2011 since 1985.
