Rosenergoatom

The RosEnergoAtom Group OAO (Russian Концерн Росэнергоатом ОАО ), meanwhile Energoatom Group OAO (Russian Концерн Энергоатом ОАО ), is a Russian state-owned monopoly company, which operates the ten civilian nuclear power plants in Russia. The Company is subject to the Federal Atomic Energy Agency of Russia.

History

RosEnergoAtom was founded in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union as a union; she received from the 27th Division of the Ministry Soviet nuclear supervision of construction and operation of nuclear power plants. The Leningrad nuclear power plant ( Sosnovy Bor ), which was privatized in 1992, RosEnergoAtom was incorporated by Government Decree of 8 September 2001.

RosEnergoAtom operates the following ten nuclear power plants with a total of 33 power reactors and a total capacity of 23,643 megawatts. In 2007 and 2015, started the construction of eight new nuclear reactors, the July announced in September 2008.

Perspectives

RosEnergoAtom to be converted into a public limited company; However, they will remain in state ownership. Order the company to research institutes and companies in the Russian civil nuclear industry to join a monopoly on the type of gas group Gazprom.
