The Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosoboronexport, full name is Federal government monopoly company Rosoboroneksport (Russian: Федеральное государственное унитарное предприятие Рособоронэкспорт short form ФГУП Рособоронэкспорт ) is the state monopoly exporter Russia for military equipment.

History
Rosoboronexport is the legal successor of the state arms exporters in the former USSR and Russia. On May 8, 1953 Agency for arms trafficking within the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Trade was established. After the collapse of the Soviet Union exported in the 1990s, two companies Weapons: Roswooruschenije and Promexport. By a decree of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on November 4, 2000 Rosoboronexport was determined as the only company for the import and export in this area.
On 4 August 2006 the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush imposed an embargo against Rosoboronexport, for the sale of materials to build weapons of mass destruction to Iran. Rosoboronexport was allowed to take two years not do business with the U.S. government. A spokesman for the company said the embargo was in retaliation for Russia's decision, weapons and military equipment worth three billion dollars to Venezuela to deliver.
