Ross Elliott

Ross Elliott ( born June 18, 1917 in the Bronx, New York, † August 12 1999 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor.

Life

Elliott began his career at founded by Orson Welles Mercury Theatre. He belonged in 1938 to the speakers of the radio play of War of the Worlds. From 1943, he played small roles in feature films, to be often called without the credits. He had for the first time in 1952 in a remote call from Chicago a greater role. Other roles in B-movies such as dinosaurs in New York and Tarantula followed, but he never succeeded in establishing itself in the film business. What movie commitments like this woman so all drives (1963 ) and Kelly's Heroes (1970 ) remained the exception.

Elliott's television career was far more successful, he stepped between the 1950s and 1980s in over 100 television series as a guest star on. In addition, he had from 1962 to 1971 the recurring role of Sheriff Abbott in the Western series The Men from Shiloh Ranch.

In 1986, Elliott retired from show business.
