Rotbach (Dreisam)

Called The Rotbach in Hell Valley, also Höllenbach

The Rotbach ( in the upper reaches Zartenbach and Spooning Albach, called in the middle reaches Höllenbach ) is the 19.9 km long, left or southern source river of Dreisamstadion in the Black Forest (Baden- Württemberg, Germany ).

Zartenbach

The headwaters of the Zartenbach mentioned headwaters begin in the municipality of Hinterzarten ( Black Forest Nature Park ) southwest of the hamlet of Upper Hinterzarten in the eastern slopes of the Ramselehöhe ( 1111.9 m) to about 1085 meters. They gather at the base of a shaped by ice age glaciers Muldental stepped longitudinal profile. In one of the Verebnungen the stream is dammed in Mathislesweiher ( 999 m above sea level. NN ). Then it flows into a wide left arc around the Windeck ( 1209 m) and flows over the top and Hinterzarten northward into the vast well of flat Hinterzarten Moores ( a nature reserve).

Spooning Albach

After him from the west of the outflow of the Western Moor part is fed flows, the creek deepened with severely elevated slope into a V-shaped valley, which is named after the plants used to reside here for the production of wooden spoons Löffeltal. Through this valley was formerly the Löffeltalsteige, the rise from hell valley to the height of Hinterzarten.

Höllenbach

In Höllentalbahn the Spooning Albach combined with the coming of the northeast of Ravenna Ravenna gorge creek. After flowing through the creek, here now called Höllenbach, northwestward initially formed by glaciers over the straight trough valley of the upper Hollental and then a gorge -like valley portion, known as Hirschsprung or Hell's Pass. Rotbach

In the lower valley it flows - from now on as Rotbach - by Falkensteig and Kingdom of Heaven ( districts of book Bach) where it exits into the plane of Hinterzarten basin. North of Kirchzarten the Rotbach united above the bridge of the main road 127 to 377 m above sea level. NN with the car Steigbach to Dreisamstadion.
